Authorities and Committees at the Eduversity
To ensure a safe, inclusive, and vibrant academic environment, the university has established several statutory and functional committees. These committees are responsible for governance, student welfare, discipline, and engagement across campus activities.
1. Anti-Ragging Committee
Purpose:
To prevent and eliminate ragging in all forms and to ensure a safe and respectful campus environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and prevent any instances of ragging.
- Conduct awareness programs and orientation for new students.
- Investigate complaints related to ragging and take strict disciplinary action.
Penalties for Ragging:
- Imprisonment: Up to 3 years
- Fine: ₹50,000
- Dismissal: Immediate expulsion from the university
Note: Ragging is a criminal offense under the law and is strictly prohibited within and outside the university premises.
2. Discipline Committee
Purpose:
To uphold discipline, ethical behavior, and integrity among students and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce the university’s code of conduct.
- Address issues of misconduct, indiscipline, or violation of university rules.
- Recommend disciplinary actions ranging from warnings to expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
3. Event Organisation Committee
Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and execute various academic, cultural, and social events on campus.
Responsibilities:
- Organize events such as fests, workshops, guest lectures, and cultural evenings.
- Ensure smooth logistics, permissions, and safety measures.
- Promote student participation and leadership through events.
4. Student Welfare Committee
Purpose:
To promote the physical, emotional, academic, and social well-being of students.
Responsibilities:
- Address grievances and provide student support services.
- Organize wellness programs, mental health awareness, and counselling sessions.
- Facilitate scholarships, mentoring, and academic support programs.
5. Seminar Committee
Purpose:
To enrich academic exposure through the organization of seminars, conferences, and guest lectures.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate national and international seminars.
- Invite speakers, subject experts, and industry professionals.
- Encourage faculty and student participation in knowledge-sharing platforms.
6. Sports Club Committee
Purpose:
To promote physical fitness, team spirit, and healthy competition among students.
Responsibilities:
- Organize intra- and inter-university sports tournaments.
- Maintain sports infrastructure and procure equipment.
- Select and train teams to represent the university in competitions.
7. Women’s Sexual Harassment Committee
(Also known as the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the PoSH Act)
Purpose:
To ensure a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive environment for all members of the university, especially women.
Responsibilities:
- Prevent and address complaints of sexual harassment.
- Conduct sensitization workshops on gender equality and safety.
- Provide a fair, confidential, and prompt grievance redressal process.
Final Note on Student Conduct
All students are expected to maintain high standards of behavior, discipline, and respect for fellow students and faculty. Acts of ragging, harassment, or indiscipline will result in strict legal and academic consequences, including:
- Imprisonment up to three years
- Fine of up to ₹50,000
- Immediate expulsion from the university
These measures reflect the university’s zero-tolerance policy toward any form of misconduct.
